Our Beef

Raised Naturally

Our cattle live happily the way they are meant to be. Cattle eat grass, they graze, they’re stress-free. Our own herd of pure-bred Black Angus roam on natural pastures near Penola, South Australia. They are free to graze, drink, shelter under trees, interact with other cattle. They eat well, drink well, sleep well.

It’s a happy herd.

Prepared Locally

Cattle should be processed at the right age in the right way. After 24 months, our cattle are prepared at our local abattoir to minimise stress on the animal. We believe that this ensures the finest quality and flavoursome meat, as well as a cruelty free life for our cattle. Travel is stressful; imagine 3 or 4 hours on a packed cattle truck. Most retailers sell young beef that has been processed at 12 months in large faraway abattoirs.

Our beef is then aged on the bone for up to 30 days in custom built cool rooms. Hanging the meat for longer improves the taste and texture of the meat. Most retailers no longer hang beef in this way to reduce cost. This sacrifices flavour and texture.

It really is the finest beef from the happiest herd.
